What To Expect From the Three Months Of the Accelerator

Starting a venture is one thing. Building something real, scalable, and investment-ready—that’s a different game entirely. At Build Africa Ventures (BAV), our accelerator is designed with one clear goal: to help founders move from potential to real execution in the shortest possible time. Over the course of three months, we don’t just teach—you build, test, refine, and grow your venture in real time, surrounded by the right people, structure, and opportunities. If you’re considering joining BAV Labs, here’s exactly what to expect.

The BAV Approach: Build, Execute, Scale

The BAV Labs experience is intense, practical, and focused on results.
You won’t be sitting through endless theory. Instead, you’ll be:

Making real business decisions
Engaging with mentors and partners
Testing your ideas in the market
Building something people actually want

Every part of the program is designed to push you forward—fast.

Month 1: Clarity, Direction & Network Building

The first month is where everything starts to take shape.
You come in with an idea, a project, or an early-stage venture—but this is where you begin to truly understand your business.

What Happens in Month One?
You’ll be exposed to a wide range of mentors, advisors, and operators who bring different perspectives to your venture. During this phase, you will:

Refine your value proposition
Validate your target market and customers
Identify what truly makes your venture work (or not)
Begin shaping your business model and strategy

You’ll have multiple sessions with mentors—some will challenge your thinking, others will open doors, and a few may become long-term advisors. This phase is not always comfortable—and that’s intentional. We push you to question everything early so you don’t build the wrong thing.

Month 2: Execution & Traction

This is where the real work begins. Month two is all about doing. You take everything you’ve learned in month one and start executing with speed and focus.

What Happens in Month Two?
You refine or build your product/service
You start testing in the real market
You focus on getting customers and revenue
You track and optimize key performance metrics (KPIs)

This is the stage where things become real. You’ll face challenges—product issues, customer feedback, pricing problems—but this is exactly where growth happens. At BAV, we don’t expect perfection. We expect progress, speed, and learning.

You’ll work closely with mentors and the BAV team to:
Solve problems quickly
Make better decisions
Stay focused on what actually matters

Month 3: Positioning, Storytelling & Investment Readiness

By the third month, your venture has taken shape. Now it’s time to position it for the next level.

What Happens in Month Three?
You refine your business story and vision
You build a strong pitch deck
You prepare for investor conversations
You position your venture for growth and funding

At this stage, storytelling becomes critical. Because it’s not just about what you’ve built— it’s about how clearly you can communicate:
What you’re solving
Why it matters
Why you will win

You’ll go through intensive pitch sessions, feedback loops, and refinements to ensure you are ready.

Demo Day: The Moment of Exposure

The program culminates in Demo Day— where founders present their ventures to:

Investors
Strategic partners
Industry leaders
The broader ecosystem

This is more than just a presentation. It’s an opportunity to:
Showcase your progress
Attract funding
Build partnerships
Open new doors for growth

But beyond Demo Day, what truly matters is who you’ve become as a founder and what your venture has become.

What a Typical Week Looks Like (Hint: There’s No “Typical”)

There’s no fixed routine—but expect a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
Your weeks may include:

Mentor sessions and advisory meetings
Workshops and masterclasses
Product development and execution
Customer discovery and sales
Pitch practice and feedback sessions

Some weeks will stretch you. Some will challenge you. All will move you forward. And importantly—you’re still building your company throughout.

What You Gain From the BAV Labs Experience

By the end of the three months, you will have:

A clearer, stronger business model
A refined product or service
Early customers or revenue
A solid network of mentors and partners
A venture positioned for growth and investment

But beyond all of that, you gain something even more valuable: The ability to build.

Final Thoughts

The BAV Labs Accelerator is not easy—and it’s not meant to be.
It’s designed for founders who are ready to:

Take action
Learn fast
Build real ventures
And push beyond their limits

If that sounds like you, then BAV Labs might be exactly what you need.
